Fragile as Morning Fog

Fragile as Morning Fog came together pretty unexpectedly.

I wasn’t trying to write a piece around a specific story or idea. I was just playing around with the piano, and a certain rhythm in the notes caught my attention. I kept repeating it, changing small things, and at some point it started to feel like there was a full piece hidden inside that pattern.

So instead of forcing the music in a certain direction, I just followed that rhythm and built around it. The melody and harmony came later, almost naturally.

The whole thing was quite spontaneous, which is probably why I wanted to keep the final version simple. It’s just piano, without adding too much around it.

The title came after the piece was finished. Fragile as Morning Fog felt right because the music has a soft and delicate character, even though the original idea was simply a rhythm that I happened to find while playing.
